Kadha- A Drink to boost your Immunity
In
this onset of Coronavirus sitting at home trying to be safe and heathy, this
homemade kadha/potion made using common kitchen spices and ingredients is a great
way to increase immunity and combat seasonal flus and infections like cold and
cough. With the change in weather, this warm kadha may be a good option to
build your body's defence by improving your immunity.
Ginger, Tulsi, and
Giloy are some of the major herbs that are known to have strong
immunity-boosting properties and can help in improving the functions of our
body’s defence system.
Serve- 2 teacups
Ingredients
- 1pc cardamom
- 1pc cinnamon
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- ½ tsp of turmeric powder
- 4-5 leaves of Tulsi
- 1/2 tsp whole black pepper
- 3 cups water
- Honey/jaggery – optional to taste
Instructions
- Add all the above spices with water in a pot.
- Boil the contents until it is reduced to approximately a total of 2 cups of solution.
- Strain it when hot and if you choose to add honey/jaggery, add before consuming when liquid is warm but not too hot to drink.
- Drink it fresh and daily to increase immunity.
